Adobe Illustrator

Here's a couple projects I created in Illustrator. It's a program I'm still trying to learn a lot more about. The thing that I love about Illustrator as opposed to photoshop is that you work with vecotor graphics instead of rasterized graphics. That means you can basically resize your project to any size, and it will never loose resolution quality.

Finished product?

So I began following the tutorial that I had written about earlier, and found that it wasn't completely clear. So I just decided that I would follow some of the ideas, and then just form a composition of my own. I will probably still put more work into it, but this is what I have so far.

So I just found this tutorial that looks really neat. I'm in the process of working on it when ever I get the chance. Once I finish, I'll so my finished product. Hope you like it.

Lindenwood womens hockey takes second place regular season

So I was pretty upset to see that we dropped from our position of 1st place that we've been holding all year. It does bother me, but I've learned that it is not so bad because we still have a good spot in nationals, and this exactly how we went into nationals last year, and we won! I'm pretty excited for nationals. We only have two games left till we go!

Sharks Take the Win Over the Blues

Recap:

ST. LOUIS (AP) -Joe Thornton and Jonathan Cheechoo each had a goal and three assists to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 6-5 win over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night.

Mike Grier and Patrick Marleau both had a goal and an assist for San Jose, which has won the first two games of its season-high, eight-game road trip. Ryane Clowe and Matt Carle also scored for the Sharks.

Bill Guerin had a hat trick for St. Louis, giving him 25 goals for the season. It was Guerin's seventh NHL hat trick and first since March 3, 2004, when he was with Dallas.

Guerin, who also had an assist, is the first Blues player to record a hat trick at home since Scott Mellanby scored four times against Phoenix on March 6, 2003. Keith Tkachuk and Christian Backman also scored for the Blues, who have dropped six of eight.

The Sharks nearly let a four-goal lead get away. San Jose led 5-1, and then carried a 6-3 advantage into the third period.

Backman cut the deficit to 6-5 when he scored off the rebound of Guerin's shot at 14:03 of the third.

San Jose did most of its damage against starting goalie Manny Legace.

Flash

Here's a project I did in my flash animation class. It's one of my more simple ones, but I really like it a lot.

My web design

So I've been trying to work on a design for my web page that I want to make. I've got some ideas, so I threw something together in photoshop to see what it would look like. I've been puttin a lot of work into it in photoshop, but now i've realized it is going to be a lot harder to make the real thing in dreamweaver. I'm still only just starting to learn the html code, so I will not be able to do much with that. I have used Dreamweaver a little, and I've learned to work around some of the code stuff by using the design section of Dreamweaver. Here's a look at what I've created using photoshop so far for my page design:

Singing in the Shower

So I was sitting at a friends house one night trying to think of something to write about, and she sends me a note that says this: "I secretly like to listen to country music in the shower". First of all, this is completely random and it got me wondering why do people like to sing in the shower? Even though we all make fun of people for doing it, it is probably something that we have all done at one time in our lives. Is it so bad to sing in the shower? I think that singing in the shower is pretty fun, and I know if I had a radio in the bathroom I would do it all the time, except I know that I would not be listening to country music. I'm not gonna lie, I would probably secretly listen to Nsync or Backstreet boys. Hahaha! This also sort of reminds me of the fact that many of us like to sing when we are alone in our car as well. You all know you've done that too!

photoshop tutorials

I've been trying to design my own web page, so I've been on the look out for good ideas. I've been trying to think of something really interesting and individual, but it's sort of difficult when you are only just learning the programs and things. I normally visit this one site for good photoshop tutorials, and I found a good example of a tutorial for a blog layout that you can design in photoshop. Check it out and try it if you like, it might look good on your blog. layout tutorial

Lindenwood Womens Hockey Tops the 3rd Ranking

So for the third time this year, the Lindenwood womens hockey team took the number one spot in the rankings. For a look at the full story click here: more

The 4th and final ranking will take place on Feb. 14th.

Concerts

I just got my tickets for a Flogging Molly show at the end of the month. Flogging Molly is an Irish punk band. I'm pretty pumped about it because it's been a long time since I've been to a concert, and it will be the second time seeing this band. I know it's going to be a good show because they were amazing the first time I saw them. I don't know what it is about the irish punk bands, but they are awesome! I think that the atmosphere is just fun to be around. I know that even people who don't know the songs still have fun at shows like these because it is just an overall good time. It will be really nice to get out and see a good concert now. If anyone is interested in seeing a Flogging Molly show, here's a link to their site so you can check updates on when they will be on tour: flogging molly
The show is on Feb. 28th, it should be great, and if anyone is interested in going, there still might be tickets, but get them quick before they are all sold out.

Weekend in Chicago

This past weekend wasn't a good one for the Lindenwood womens hockey team. We went up to Chicago to play against Robert Morris College, our rival team. They are one of the few teams that can come close our team in the standings. This year and past years, there has been a battle for the first place spot in the national rankings. Last year we beat them in overtime of the championship game for the national title. So, this weekend we went up there very excited to play them, and we expected to get some wins out of it too. It turns out we end up losing both games against them, and now we might have to face a lower ranking for the national tournament. Overall we didn't have a bad weekend, but there was some horrible refs, and I felt like they kept getting lucky bounces. So we came back upset about the losses, but we did learn a lot from the weekend, and I think it will help us prepare even better for the national tournament. My First Post

I've got my blog up and running, and I've decided that my first post will tell more and more about me to let everyone know what I'm all about. I am a sophomore at Lindenwood University, and I am majoring in Multimedia Production Communications. I'm looking forward to learning more about and focusing on graphic design. I play for the womans ice hockey team here at lindenwood, and my first year here we won the National Championships. I am from California, so it's exciting to be doing such interesting things while being so far from home.
